Meet Tile Giant Welwyn Garden City
Having only opened in November 2017, our Welwyn store is one of the newest additions to the Tile Giant family. We spoke to store manager Ian Bell and his team consisting of Sam, Harry and Katie to find out more about them.
What’s your favourite bit about Welwyn?
I love the diversity Welwyn seems to have. Being one of the world’s first Garden Cities means we have a lot of bigger detached properties which means customers are generally looking for larger project quantities and that's where we can really stand out as we can deliver the quantities that they need, when they need it!
How can Tile Giant help customers find their perfect tile?
I believe that the sample service we offer is fantastic. Giving our customers the ability to purchase a tile with the knowledge they can return the tile and get a full refund for up to 1 year. We always recommend people take a tile home to see how the light and other colours in the home blend with the tile and the style they have chosen.
What trends are proving popular at the moment?
At the moment I am very much into the wood effect tiles and the Rowan range is a welcome addition to that. Sequoia has proved a very popular choice in this area hence why I decided to move the range closer to the front of the store.
What’s the best thing about working for Tile Giant?
The best thing about working for Tile Giant is meeting new customers every day and helping them realise their dream through great customer service. When they come back with pictures to show you what it looks like there is no better feeling!
About the store
Tile Giant in Welwyn Garden City is ideally located just outside of the town centre, next door to Wickes, with free customer parking easily accessible off Bessemer Road.
As with many Tile Giant stores, we’re open for extended hours so you can get the materials you need, when you need them.
The Tile Giant Welwyn showroom is open from 7:30am to 6:00pm throughout the week, 9:00am to 5:30pm on Saturdays and 10:00 until 4:00pm on Sundays.
Our Tile Giant store in Welwyn is also open on Bank Holidays if you’re planning on tackling some DIY over the long weekend.

If you’d prefer to order online you can reserve and collect in store and return excess tiles in our buyback service, but please contact customer service on 0345 307 5000 to arrange this.
