Like any trend, bathroom styles can come and go and it’s hard to keep up with the latest looks. But you don’t need to be an interior designer to design a bathroom that stands the test of time.
Using timeless tiles to create a classic bathroom means you’ll have a design that will never go out of fashion.
It doesn’t need to be complicated; especially as we’ve got some ideas for you. We hope that we can help to inspire you with some timeless tiles for your next bathroom renovation.
Consider a light colour palette
Lighter colour tiles are often used in bathrooms and there are many good reasons why. Giving the effect of an airy and relaxing environment, this choice of colour palette is the perfect choice for a long-term investment.
Easily match bathroom furniture
Many bigger bathroom furniture items like bathtubs, sinks and heating, often come in white as standard. Not only can you match your bathroom really easily to these essential items, but the whole room would present itself as unified and clean.
Clean but adaptable
Lighter colours are easy to keep clean and hold their ‘newness’ if looked after with care. But if you do decide that you are in need of a change in the future, you can easily change the whole look of your bathroom with just a few colourful bathroom accessories.
Use tile patterns for added creativity
If you like the idea of a more neutral bathroom but feel like adding a touch of creativity, try using a chevron pattern when laying your tiles. One of our wonderful customer projects as shown above uses the technique - the end result is extremely effective. Metro tiles are the perfect tile to use for this pattern to add a twist, plus they’re super durable and have a really timeless appeal.
Go darker for a contemporary classic
From one iconic look to another; dark bathroom tiles are quickly becoming a popular contemporary look that lasts.
A timeless trend
Darker tiles are incredibly on-trend, but can tie in perfectly with a range of bathroom aesthetics; so a timeless look can be effortlessly achieved.
Large format tiles
If a dark tile would suit your room aesthetic, we would recommend larger format tiles like the i-Pietra Alpine in Charcoal. A darker tile can often make a room feel less spacious, but larger format tiles can help to bring back openness to the area.
Sleek and easy to maintain
With a sleek finish and easy to maintain and keep clean, darker tiles are another elegant choice that you wouldn’t tire of.
Majestic monochrome
If you’re unable to decide on the two options above; go for the best of both worlds. Monochrome styles never date, so they’re a timeless option when it comes to bathroom designs. Simple yet dignified, black and white tiles add a classy but interesting look to bathrooms when used together.
Make an impact
Using this subtle colour scheme, you can easily make a statement with a real impact which you would continually feel excited about. Without a drastic style change, drawing together a monochrome colour scheme can be as simple or as complex as you like.
A naturally iconic look
Natural stones are traditionally used in sculptures and architecture, but natural tiles are a hugely popular choice when it comes to redesigning a room. Not only for the traditional and timeless look, but because of the natural strength and robustness of the materials too.
Get the hotel look
These types of tiles are also commonly used in hotels as not only will the style last, but they can be kept fresh and gleaming.
The perfect finish
Glossy finishes make a completely relaxing atmosphere, and you can certainly relax at the fact that they will last.
A luxury investment
Natural stone tiles are a great long-term investment, so you can enjoy the decadence for years to come.
Stay minimalistic
Super modern style
If your style is kept quite muted and minimalist, there is a high chance that your creative preferences won’t stray too far from the tiles you’ve chosen.
With a super modern appeal, minimalistic styles offer a really simplistic and classic approach to design.
Perfect for small spaces
A superb option for smaller spaces, staying minimal opens up the space in a really complimentary way.
Create a stand-out feature
Feature tiles could be used above the sink or behind a bath to keep areas muted, but still add a touch of stylishness.
Keep areas clutter free and be as savvy with space available as possible for maximum effect.
Don't forget the floor
Use your creative flair!
Hexagonal or patterned floor tiles can provide a subtle yet creative flair without dominating the room. Keeping a simple style throughout the rest of the room means the floor adds a special sophistication; bringing together a classy and timeless feel.
Experiment with colours and patterns
The colour and pattern options are endless, but we love the above project from one of our customers, using our Ornamenta Girona Blue tiles.
By making a feature of the floor and sink splashback and keeping the rest of the room white, the room is really brought to life.
