We spoke to Store Manager Ryan Maguire, to find out more about Tile Giant Farnham and how they can help Tile Giant customers find the right tile for their needs.
Tell us about the team at Tile Giant Farnham
We have a team of three, made up of myself, Mike who is Assistant Manager and Lukas, our Customer Assistant. I’ve been with Tile Giant for two and a half years, after spending 9 years with Wickes.
Mike has over 30 years of experience in the tile industry, including selling tiles in Australia where he lived for 7 years. Lukas has been with Tile Giant for two years, after previously working in the entertainment industry. Lukas has a lot of experience with tiles and loves to do our displays in store.
How can Tile Giant help customers find their perfect tile?
As a team we love helping customers with their projects from start to finish. We offer a great tile sample service, so you can buy samples of any tile in our catalogue and see how they look in your home. You can return them for a full refund for up to a year, giving you plenty of time to find the perfect tile.
We also have plenty of fantastic new ranges, such as Moonlight, Supreme and our new Victoria Baths range as well as a comprehensive range of wood effect porcelain tiles.
Our mosaic tile ranges are very broad, so whether you’re looking for a natural stone tile, glass or a glass and metal mixture mosaic, there’ll be something for all tastes in our store.
What’s the best bit of advice you can give for customers visiting the store to help you help them?
We always advise bringing along elements of the colour scheme you are looking at. So if you’re looking for tiles for your kitchen, bring along samples of your worktops or cabinets where possible to see what tiles will complement your style.
This will also help us point you in the direction of something you like and we can suggest other options to suit too. It’s also great when customers come into the store with an open mind.
We love to help you find exactly what you’re after, but we also enjoy showing you alternative looks and styles.
What styles and trends are catching your eye at the moment?
Personally, I really like the cement effect tiles such as the Venue, Phantom and Essence range. However, I have recently had my head turned by our new Supreme range of polished and matt porcelain tiles, they provide a real ‘wow’ factor.
Mike’s favourite tile at the moment is the Supreme range, but he’s also fond of our new natural stone tile and wood effect ranges, especially the Silva collection. As for Lukas, he really likes the new wood effect tile range, especially the Ciminia collection.
We’re constantly being asked how much the wood flooring is and customers are always surprised when we say it’s actually a wood effect porcelain tile.
What are the most popular tiles with your customers?
Natural stone effect tiles have always been popular and I can’t see that changing. We’ve seen an increase in popularity of the smaller format kitchen recently, with many people choosing to use them in bathrooms for an instant impact.
Using a coloured grout can help people bring in another element of colour which may not otherwise have been present and our Mapei range of grouts with over 30 colours can help people achieve this.
What’s your favourite bit about Farnham?
The thing I really like most about Farnham is the traditional feel of the town - lots of little boutiques and coffee shops. There’s also the range of people we see, there’s a mix of houses in the local area from more modern houses to cottages and townhouses.
We’re constantly kept on our toes as almost every customer is looking for something different.
What makes Tile Giant stand out over other retailers?

About Tile Giant Farnham
Tile Giant Farnham is ideally located just off the Farnham By-Pass on the Guildford Trading Estate. There’s plenty of free customer parking easily accessible on site.
As with many Tile Giant stores, we’re open for extended hours so you can get the materials you need, when you need them.
Our Farnham tile showroom is open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm throughout the week, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm on Saturdays and 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on Sundays.
Tile Giant Farnham is also open on Bank Holidays if you’re planning on tackling some DIY over the long weekend.
