The team at Tile Giant Canterbury is made up of 3 members of staff; Rodney, Ryah and Dean. With over 25 years experience in the industry between them, we spoke to store manager Rodney to find out a bit more.
How can Tile Giant help customers find their perfect tile?
Finding the perfect tiles for a project can be a nightmare, and tile shopping can become stressful when you don't find the right help or inspiration. I like to get involved with the customer's project, piecing together colour combinations and going the extra mile for customers to create rooms that they want to spend more time in.
When we have a few good choices, I always insist that the customer takes samples away to make sure they are happy with colours, the size and the look before ordering. For me, we like to keep things simple, so nothing is ever too much trouble.
What’s your favourite style or trend?
I love the natural trend at the moment, especially the wood effect tiles. Working in tiles for 18 years, wood effect tiles really do show the reality of how far printing technology has come.
Not only are wood effect tiles easy to look after but they really do compliment a majority of living styles and give a timeless finish to any room.
What tiles or products are proving popular at the moment?
Our most popular tile at the moment is Venue Light Grey. Not only does it have 50% off but it reflects the trend of grey and concrete effect. They are very versatile to be used in a majority of applications and for the money they are stunning.
What’s your favourite bit about Canterbury?
I live in and work in Canterbury and to me it's my home after moving from London 20 years ago. My favourite part of Canterbury are all the community events it holds like Pride and The Food Festival, as you can spend time with friends and enjoy what Canterbury has to offer.
Why does Tile Giant stand out over other retailers?
Tile Giant is all about our customers, how we get involved into the project and make the room its best. I really like how we interact with our customers on a one to one basis, forming good dependable relationships, to ensure that we make the project run smoothly and hassle free.
What’s the best thing about working for Tile Giant?
Running a store can have its challenges however I have an extended family of colleagues that stretch further than my store. It's nice to work for a company where this community of colleagues work together as a team to make the experience not only the best it can be for us but have that good feeling reach our customers.
About Tile Giant Canterbury
Tile Giant Canterbury is ideally located the Wincheap Industrial Estate off the A28 Wincheap road. There’s plenty of free customer parking easily accessible on site. As with many Tile Giant stores, we’re open for extended hours so you can get the materials you need, when you need them.
Our Canterbury tile showroom is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm throughout the week, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm on Saturdays and 10:00 am until 4:00 pm on Sundays. Tile Giant Canterbury is also open on Bank Holidays if you’re planning on tackling some DIY over the long weekend.
