Get The Look: Industrial Interiors Using Aneto Tiles
- Tile Giant
- 31 May 2019

The industrial interior trend takes its inspiration from the features and materials of old factories, warehouses and other industrial spaces. Raw, unfinished and exposed are the key characteristics of industrial décor, embracing raw materials like brick, concrete, metal and wood.
Combining these materials with original features like steel beams or exposed brickwork and well-chosen furnishings & accessories achieves a look that seems unfinished, yet cohesive and chic.
Born in the 1970s when mills, factories and warehouses were closing down, industrial interior style began as new residents moved into these spaces. They left the exposed brickwork, steel vaulted ceilings and concrete floors as they were and instead chose to style their interiors around these features.
Fast forward 40 years and the style has only grown more and more popular, becoming one of the biggest interior design trends in recent years with many now choosing to transform their homes to get the industrial look.
So how do you create an industrial interior with ‘wow’ factor and make the most of the space you have available? We’ll take a look at some great ways to get inspired as well as 5 key elements of industrial design and how you can easily incorporate these into your home.

5 Key Elements of Industrial Interior Design
The industrial interior design trend has a few defining characteristics that you should incorporate within your space to achieve the distinctive industrial look and make a real statement.
1. Colour Palette
For an authentic industrial look, the colour palette used should steer clear of bold or bright colours.
Instead, opt for neutral tones similar to those found in raw materials like wood and stone. You could also add a crisp and clean feel using grey and greige tones and contrasting them with white.
2. Walls & Structure
Make use of any exposed raw materials like bricks or concrete as well as structures like beams or columns. These features are typical of urban and industrial style, so if you already have any of these hallmarks in your space, make sure to use them as a focal point.
Good to know: Don’t worry if your home is more modern and clean, there are lots of other ways to create an industrial feel with lighting, furniture, flooring and accessories.
3. Lighting
Lighting fixtures in raw metallic finishes like wrought iron, steel or copper make for great choices to achieve the industrial look.
Opt for pendant fittings or freestanding floor lamps using retro filament bulbs for an authentic industrial vibe.
4. Furniture & Accessories
The furniture and accessories you choose can really bring the industrial aesthetic to life. Your furnishings should continue with the theme of raw and unfinished materials, combining wood and metalwork with sharp, geometric shapes.
Alongside your industrial accent pieces, add scatter cushions, rugs and artwork to create a comfy and homely atmosphere. Plants bring colour and life into your environment, so adding a few large leafy plants & statement pots makes a good contrast against the raw materials.
5. Flooring
Your choice of flooring can make a huge impact on a room, affecting the overall look it has. The most popular flooring options for an industrial style interior are reclaimed wood and concrete, giving the raw factory or warehouse feel that the industrial trend emulates.
You could opt for wood tones to match or contrast other shades in your room, a polished concrete floor to add another texture or even concrete effect tiles for a more clean and simple look.
Introducing the NEW Aneto Tiles
The Aneto tiles are a large format, natural stone effect, porcelain tile in a soft matt grey colour. They are a hard wearing tile, suitable for both walls and floors of high traffic areas of the home including kitchens, bathrooms and hallways.
The slightly worn and faded effect on the edges of the tiles creates an interesting urban look, similar to that of concrete, meaning that the Aneto tiles lend themselves well to the industrial trend.
Featured product: Aneto Grey Matt Tiles
Their large format size of 60cm x 120cm and rectangular shape can create the illusion of an area that is much bigger than it really is, drawing the eye horizontally along the room. The large surface area of the Aneto tiles also creates a clean and uncluttered look, helping to give the illusion of a more open space.
How to Get the Industrial Look Using Aneto Tiles
The matt concrete-effect and cool grey tones of the Aneto tiles mean you can effortlessly create an industrial look in any area of your home. We’ll look at how to create an industrial-chic bathroom using our Aneto tiles, but these ideas can be applied to kitchens, hallways or living rooms too.
We love the look of the Aneto tiles in a bathroom when used on both the walls and floor to make a simple but effective statement.
We’ve opted for a combination of lighting fixtures, using both a large pendant light and wall fixtures in a brushed pewter finish to complement the soft grey shade of the tiles, with retro filament bulbs to create an industrial vibe.
Add storage with shelves or units combining wood and metal to keep the urban feel throughout. We opted for a tall ladder style shelving unit in dark wood with a black metal frame finish.
We also love the look of adding statement industrial style radiators to make a feature and add another flash of black, tying in with the ladder shelf frame and light fittings.
Finally, add leafy green plants or succulents to bring a splash of colour and life to the room.
